April Flowers

Allan and I went to check out all the blooms at our local garden center this morning. It was absolutely gorgeous outside! The kind of day you would call in sick just to stay outside and play! I cleaned and cut and trimmed and potted til I was pooped. Must say I was pleased with the results. My yard and deck looks like something out of Better Homes & Gardens!

The Night Shift

From Wednesday morning to Sunday morning this is all I see of my husband. He now works the night shift. From 6 p.m. to sometime in the wee morning hours he sits at a computer in the newsroom and puts up the news on the Web. I get up at 7 a.m. and leave for work around 9:15 and get home about 6:30. We have Sundays and Mondays together -- then the whole thing starts over again.

Allan has adapted to all the light in our bedroom by putting a little feather pillow over his eyes. He is adjusting by getting a little more sleep each day.

We talk on the phone lots -- I remind him to walk the dog, what to eat, what chores to do. He calls me with questions on cooking directions and where to find things. For now it okay -- but I'll be glad when his schedule changes back!

The Bronze Lady

I have been working with Peggy in helping her select a new sofa sectional for her family room. She came into the store today to finalize her selection. Mom Mom came with her. Hers will be similar to the one they are sitting on. It will be a leather / fabric combination in rich browns, deep merlot and dark green.

I shot some pictures of the store today - some of you have been asking for these. Carol - the owner - is on the phone at the main desk. Others are random shots that show the type of beachy furniture and things we sell. Enjoy!

A new tropical retro group in fun bright colors!
We have many fun accessories and wall art to match all the displayed rooms too!

We have about 10 living rooms on display - 10 dining rooms and 4 bedrooms. The back of the store has patio and outdoor displays.

Family Outing

Mom organized a fun rainy day trip to the local museum to see the Vatican show. It will be traveling around the world - showcasing various artworks, vestments, photographs, etc.

Since I have never been to the real Vatican - it was the next best thing. Someday soon I would love to go to Rome - to make that special pilgrimage - maybe even see the Holy Father. Anyway, Mom and Dad, Joe and Mary Jo, Lois and Tom, and Allan and I enjoyed seeing all the splendors.

Afterwards, we all met at Harveys (except Lois and Tom) for a lite supper.

Girls day out!

I had given my mom a gift card for her birthday to a new store opening in our area. Since I had the day off from work, we decided to hit the stores. We met Mary Jo for lunch at a Steak and Shake and then a quick tour of her new office - then we were off! Although we didn't end up with any new shoes or handbags - we did find new swimsuits for the beach. And 40% off too! Allan and Pop-Pop say we still got it!

Chapter 1

Okay. I have a blog. Now what do I type?

I'm sitting here trying to decide what to write about and what is the point of this. Allan says be careful what you say around here because it might end up in the blog.

All three of my girls have incredible blogs that I read regularly and now they can keep up with me. Anyone else is invited to stop by too.

I am very blessed with a wonderful supporting family and live in a beautiful sunny city. I work part time decorating a furniture store at the beach. We have a cute mixed yorkie dog named McGee (above) and a big old orange cat named Mr. Morris (below). Allan and I have been married three and a half years. We are both Catholic and active in our church. We enjoy relaxing at our beautiful home, traveling to see our children and grandkids, dining out, shopping, and the beach.
