Next Cruise

When I turned 50 a few years back, I decided to celebrate with a Caribbean cruise. My sister, Lois, accompanied me. Neither of us had ever been on a cruise before. We were so excited and had a blast! In 2013, I'll celebrate the big 6-0. In honor of such a big milestone, I think another cruise is in order. Today I received a small bonus check from a dear client and I have decided to start a special savings account for this trip. Money I receive from gifts, bonuses, etc., will go into this account so hopefully I can pay in cash in full for this birthday trip. This time my traveling companion will be Allan. He has never been on a cruise so now I can show him the ropes! I'll keep you all posted and let you know what trips and ships we are looking at and how we are doing on the fund raising. Can't wait!

Seeking happiness!

Had a little time this morning before going to work to create some more springtime displays. Moved the big blue swan and rabbit to the small sideboard below the seek happiness canvas. Also, while cleaning out the storage room last weekend I came across the cute birdhouse collector sign that mom gave to me awhile ago.

My window on the world

I seem to spend a lot of time at the kitchen sink. Cleaning dishes, washing the dog, filling pots, etc. It doesn't matter though, because of this window. This little window is my view to the world. Okay, so it's only a view to the front drive and street. But I can see who drives by, who walks by, see what's going on across the street, hear what is going on down the street, see when the mailman comes, or the UPS truck, or someone pulling up into the driveway. My window on the world!

Update: I am sitting on my front porch sipping a glass of wine and enjoying the end of another BEAUTIFUL Florida winter day. High is 78 degrees. We are so lucky to be living here!

Easter Bunnies on Parade

The day was spring-like and I had fun decorating my house for Easter. I dug the big green plastic bin out of the storage room and set to work. I have collected bunnies, ducks, and chicks since my college days. Never had them arranged all together! But kinda like the results. A quick trip out to HomeGoods to find the sign on the wall and voila!

Idea for Business Logo

I came up with this idea of leaving a pair of flip flops tied with raffia somewhere in the interior on a project site. I also sign and date the bottoms. This is my unique signature. Since most of what I do are beach homes, what could be better!
