At the Zoo!

My last morning in Milwaukee was spent with all the animals at the zoo! We loaded up the van and headed out around 9 am. It was a warm, sunny day and everyone was excited to see their favorite critter!

First up were the elephants! Two were out in their yard rubbing up against a tree and slinging water!

next were the giraffes. Several were out nibbling on leaves - stretching their long necks.

Isaiah likes cows. Says they belong here because Wisconsin is the dairy state!

This little train could be heard all over the park with it's loud whistle. We had a fun morning at the zoo!

When in Wisconsin ... Kopp's!

I was super excited when Melanie suggested going to Kopp's in Milkaukee the other day. Kopp's is famous for their frozen custard. Frozen custard is a Wisconsin thing. But once you try it, you are hooked! Tonight's the night!

Burgers, fries, lemonades, and, of course, custards all around! Noah, above, licked the last drop of chocolate custard! Will always remember my first visit to this Wisconsin landmark.

A New Angle

My new rug for the foyer finally arrived. I picked it out of the Spring 2013 Jaipur catalog. It's an indoor/outdoor and measures 5' x 8'. I love the soft colors and stair step design. Gives our entry a lighter, summer look.

Found this cute pottery dish with birds to dress up the tulip water garden. It was $29 from HomeGoods.

The "Eyes" have it!

Allan and I stopped in at our neighborhood Vision Works store today to look at new frames for me. I decided I would just look and not buy (today) because of the variety of different styles and I wanted to narrow down my favorites.
Right off the bat I found some I really liked. Clear plastic multi-color frames in just the right size and shape!

I also found some jewelry-like frames (so Brighton-like) that were very pretty and a little dressy.

Going to have my eyes examined and will make my final decision in a few days!

*Update: I ordered the clear multi frames and they will be ready this week!
