Sailin'

Mom, Dad, Allan and I were invited aboard a 53' sailing vessel recently to sail around Tampa Bay at sunset.
It was a beautiful night on the water. Light breeze blowing. Calm water.
Here's to a fun evening for all
Letting out the main sail.
Under way. Leaving the Vinoy basin.
Captain Frank and some of the crew ...
View from my seat. Soft colored sky.
My favorite shot of the trip. St. Pete skyline from bay.
Passing the old Pier.
On the bow of 14 Pennies ...
Last of the light ...
And back again.

Longboat Key

The B&B was all abuzz the next morning with everyone's event stories of the night before. We found Dave sitting in the kitchen drinking Champagne and asking lots of questions. Slowly everyone came down for breakfast.
Another wonderful breakfast spread!

Light-as-air Belgium waffles.

After breakfast, talk turned to moving the party out to the beach.
Condos had been leased on Longboat Key through the weekend.
Allan and I presented them with their new beach tees!
we also admired their new bling.

Allan and I repacked the Jeep and headed to the coast.
This was the view out our back door!

We unloaded and checked in, then found Publix and stocked up the fridge, hopped into our swimsuits and waited in the pool for everyone to get there.
Our outdoor kitchen and party deck!

We grilled out each night and ate under the stars. Burgers, dogs, steaks, fish, and taco's. Yum!
Much wine was consumed!
Saturday was a great beach day!
Everyone was out enjoying the water and the breeze!
our beach camp!
A short shower later in the day ...
Otherwise, the weather was perfect!
Heaven!
Shade, a cold drink, a good read, and good company.

We had such a great time - we all decided to do it again real soon!

A Wedding in the French Style

From French braids and manicures to French country scenes and the city of Paris - all things French prevailed. Once I braided bridesmaid Kellie's hair, all the little girls lined up likewise.

Linda and Dave decided to have pictures taken before the ceremony. There was a touching moment when she revealed herself to Dave in her wedding finery. He cried!
Linda wanted the area around the ceremony to look like the French countryside. I think they pulled it off!
Here, the younger member of the wedding party are enjoying a short rest on the picnic blanket.
