On our way to Trump Tower for breakfast. Nothing's clean til its Gucci clean!
Fabulous breakfast in the marble and glass Trump Tower on 5th Avenue.
Met Alvin the doorman - who has worked for Mr. Trump for fifteen years - and still loves his job.
Breakfast before Tiffany's!
Even the men's ties are Tiffany blue!
Found something I loved ...
and a saleslady to wrap it up proper!
a souvenir photo from our first shopping trip to Tiffany on 5th Avenue, New York City!
Diamond jewelry on the main floor. So fun to peak at all the beautiful cases.
Across the street was PRADA - but no devil in sight!
Loved window shopping at Harry Winston! Loved being in New York City! Can't wait to go back!

Day 3: Times Square
Hey! I'm in Times Square. It's late at night - but you would never know it by the crowds of people and ALL the lights!
Found the M&M store - and its own version of the Statue of Liberty!
mugging with M&M Yellow!
They had everything under the sun ... We bought some dark chocolate M&M's and some I Love NY M&M's in clear apple containers for gifts. Also some cute ice cream bowls.
always action out on the streets ...
always plenty of window shopping too! The end of another exciting day!

Day 3: Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island
We began this day with breakfast at a neighborhood cafe - real New York bagels and hot coffee. Fluffy's Cafe is a midtown institution - and priced right. So yum!
We decided to try the subway - on our own - to get to Battery Park. One train - last stop. Simple. We did it!
We had reserve tickets waiting for us - and once again, did not have to wait in the long line. Got right on the ferry.
view of Liberty Island from ferry!
Side view of Statue with Manhattan skyline.
front view from the island. We had pedestal tickets so we would be going to the top of the stone tower.
Saw the Staten Island ferry on her rounds!
glass ceiling looking up the inside of the statue
Lady Liberty's close up!
the beautiful skyline!
Liberty water!
Allan shoots me looking up!
and what I'm looking at!
next stop - Ellis Island!
Great Hall
Looking up in the Great Hall
wonderful old pictures of early travelers arriving
We enjoyed seeing Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. Everyone should see these!

Day 2: 9/11 Memorial
Allan and I spent Sunday afternoon touring The World Trade Center site and the September 11th museum. In the footprints of the two World Trade Centers are beautiful reflecting pools with cascading waters -- the North Pool and the South Pool. Names of the victims are etched in the sloping top edge of the pools. The plaza is large and open -- and very quiet.
The new trade center building. A new observation deck is opening at the end of May.
The first image in the moment-by-moment exhibit of the events that day at the World Trade Center.
surviving support walls
twisted metal
an actual burned out ladder truck.
steel girder bent by temperature and force.
The last standing support column.
Allan under The Survivor's Tree. A callery pear tree found damaged at the 9/11 site but nursed back to health by the New York City Parks and Recreation Department.
close up of some names ...
Many new buildings are going up in the neighborhood -- including a new train station with wings-like-a-dove roof. The memorial was very moving and so glad we were able to send the afternoon there.
Later that night, we were treated to a gala at the hotel. Cocktail reception, dinner, show, and dancing the night away!
A fine time was had by all!
