Day 2: Window on the World Tour of New York City

We began our morning in Central Park on a walking tour. Tavern on the Green is a world famous restaurant located in the park. They were serving brunch on an outside patio while we were there.
You might remember a Folgers coffee commercial filmed there in the 70's! I do!
Next stop was Strawberry Fields. Yoko Ono was able to get the world behind her to have this special garden dedicated to the memory of John Lennon after his death in 1981. Plants from all over the world are cared for here. No statues - only the Imagine mosaic marks the spot.
The iconic green park benches line the path in Strawberry Fields. Most have little dedication plaques with names and dates.
Typical park view - skyscrapers never out of view!
Bethesda Fountain with the beautiful Angel of the Waters statue by Emma Stebbins.
Bethesda Terrace next to the fountain.
Beautiful Upper East side architecture.
At Lincoln Center - The Met!
Art work over front entrance of the David H Koch Theater - home of the New York City Ballet.

Look familiar? The fountain in front of The Met.

The Julliard School is also located in Lincoln Center.
Heading back to the hotel through Times Square!
We had lunch at Lindy's outdoor cafe. Bigger than life sandwiches and famous New York cheesecake!
Yum!
